HOW TO USE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER BARS

I have never used supermarket shampoo and conditioners, always salon products and its made a huge difference to my hair over many years.

Orange Grove Shampoo & Conditioner bars

Being a little apprehensive about these bars I made a few different recipes and was very pleasantly surprised how much my hair (and myself) took to them.

I had to read up on how to use them, so you may find this useful.  I had no trouble adapting though and only shampoo once.

Rub the shampoo bar between your wet hands a bit of lather. Its not nearly as lathery as normal shampoo, but dont worry, keep going.

Using your fingers like a comb, smooth the lather down the length of your hair. If you the lather is not foamy enough, add more water. Gently massage it into the scalp and hair, as you would with a bottled shampoo.

When you first begin, your hair or scalp may change and even misbehave.  We need to give our body a chance to adapt sometimes.

It may take some patience, but if you can persevere, your reward will be healthy, soft and silky hair.

Shampoo Twice if needed: If you are used to commercial shampoo and shampoo twice, you will have already noticed that the second wash produces a lot more lather.

The first wash is mixing with the dirt and excess oil in your hair so the second wash is working on cleaner hair. The same is true for our shampoo bars.

So, instead of using more shampoo with one washing, I like to rinse and repeat. I find that the second wash creates a better, more intense lather that rinses cleaner and leaves my hair feeling softer and shinier.

Rinse! Rinse! Rinse!: Unlike liquid or bar detergent shampoos, the lather from a natural shampoo bar may not rinse out as quickly, especially in hard water. Make sure to rinse thoroughly. This is especially true if you have long hair.

Its been said that a conditioner bar is not necessary, but I prefer ending my hair wash with one, so I recommend it.

Some people recommend a rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar after.  I have never done that.

Some companies claim that we only recommend an apple cider vinegar rinse to "fix" the damage done by a soap-based shampoo bar, that's simply not true.

An apple cider vinegar-based rinse can help restore life to your hair and scalp no matter what type of shampoo products you use.

While it is true that these rinses are especially helpful for those new to shampoo bars, an Apple Cider Vinegar hair rinse is a great addition to any hair care regimen.

Raw apple cider vinegar, packed with nutrients, can help with tangles and frizzy hair, bring back body and shine, decrease residue and clarify, stimulate the scalp, decrease dandruff, and unclog hair follicles which may help with excess shedding or hair loss.

Any hair can become dull and limp due to the buildup of residue from shampoo, conditioner, and other hair styling products.

Raw apple cider vinegar is packed with nutrients and can;
•    help with tangles and frizzy hair
•    bring back body and shine
•    decrease residue
•    clarify, stimulate the scalp
•    decrease dandruff
•    unclog hair follicles which may help with excess shedding or hair loss
•    be especially helpful for those new to natural shampoo bars
